The group consists of journaling/drawing, community circle sharing time, and activities/games. The primary focus is on self-discovery, getting to know others, and improving relationships with others. We have been meeting since the beginning of October and currently have 7-12 students attending each session every week. Art and conversation games are a big part of what we do during this time. To this point we have made do with our sad collection of supplies. Recently the group has discovered "adult coloring pages," how to create friendship bracelets, and other cathartic art experiences. Due to time and location, we are limited in our ability to create complex (messy) arts or crafts, but are seeking some very specific items to enhance our group time (i.e. the kids have declared the Mrs. Wilson's limited supply of brown, orange, and purple markers are insufficient for pretty much anything cool or fun). Please consider donating the following items:
******************************************* EMERGENCY CLOSINGS AND DELAYS
Inclement weather may necessitate the closing or delay of schools. If schools are closed this will also include the cancellation of extracurricular activities and the events in the community pool unless otherwise announced. Please listen to local radio or television stations for school closings or delays. Such weather may also deter students from going outside during the school day. Please be sure that students are dressed appropriately for the weather. In addition to local radio and television, weather conditions can be checked on-line at www.hssd.k12.wi.us. Click on the Wunderground link for local weather conditions and forecasts. ******************************************* SPEAK UP - PARENT SURVEYParents: Speak Up – Your ideas are important to us!
