Pick up & Drop Off Reminders
A few important reminders regarding pick up and drop off of students:
* All adults accompanying their student into school MUST sign in at the office and be wearing a visitor badge. * Traffic must continue to move in both of the pick up and drop off lanes; therefore NO PARKING is allowed in these lanes before or after school. PLEASE find a spot in the parking lot if you wish to walk your child to or from their entrance; we appreciate your cooperation. * The safety of your child is our top priority; therefore please notify the office if your child is being picked up by another parent; is walking home with another student, etc. If we do not hear from a parent; your child will be sent home in their normal manner. ********************************************************************** Let's Recycle TogetherNew this year we will be collecting aluminum cans; and periodically taking them into Alter Recycling. All money earned will benefit Meadowbrook directly! So rather than throwing them into your general recycling; please consider dropping them off in the fenced in area near the sheds in our staff parking lot. We will discuss our progress at the monthly Bulldog Bash and promise to update as the money begins to accumulate. Thanks for your consideration!
********************************************************************** Stay tuned for more information as the date gets closer; Meadowbrook will once again be participating in the annual Walk to School Day!
Let’s Talk!
with Mrs. VanAsten and Mrs. Heim Speech-Language Pathologists Hello, and welcome to another wonderful school year at Meadowbrook Elementary! We are Katie VanAsten and Julie Heim and we are the Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) for students at Meadowbrook Elementary school this year. As SLPs, we work with students who have diagnosed speech and language delays. These delays include articulation (speech sounds), grammar, expressive and receptive language, voice, or fluency (stuttering). While we get the privilege of working with many of the students that come to our school, we know there are more still that we do not get to meet. Language is such a large part of our lives, and we would like to take an opportunity each month to share what we hope will be some useful, easy tips for enhancing the speech and language skills of ALL students. Mrs. VanAsten will be working with students in grade 3rd and 4th, while Mrs. Heim will be working with students in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade. If you ever have questions about your child’s speech and language development, please don’t hesitate to give us a shout! We are happy to be a resource for all. Communication is empowering - and we want every child to feel empowered. Thank you for your support, and we wish all the best to each student and family at Meadowbrook Elementary School! Let’s make it a great year! Mrs. Katie VanAsten Mrs. Julie Heim ********************************************************************** Our first READ 20 event was loads of fun!
Junior Achievement needs your help!Junior Achievement of Brown County is still looking for volunteers to work with Meadowbrook students. They provide training and will give you all the materials needed, and you are welcome to co-teach if you would like. It’s not a huge commitment, just 5 visits for 45 min each time. Please contact Laura Belter at 920.336.1444 if you want to learn more!
