********************************************************************** Teamwork (noun) – the combined action of a group of people, especially when effective and efficient. At the Howard Suamico School District, teamwork is demonstrated in many different ways. Our students participate in teamwork with athletics, music, theatre, and especially academics. Our students work together as a group, to learn, grow, and share. Teamwork is showing at Bay Harbor Elementary, where the students are preparing for the annual Fall Fest Fundraiser; Suamico Elementary is displaying teamwork at their Buddy Bench during recess; and Howard Elementary is showing their teamwork with Popcorn Fridays. Our Board of Education and administrators use teamwork to drive our mission forward. Currently, we are engaged with a Community Task Force, teaming community members with district administrators to better understand our district needs and opportunities. The goal of the Community Task Force is to make a recommendation for the Board of Education to consider. As we see every day in the Howard Suamico School District, with teamwork we can accomplish anything. If you have any questions for the Board of Education, please reach out to your team member located in this article. ********************************************************************** Dear Wesley Advice ColumnDear Wesley,
This month has been horrible! I have a best friend since I was 4 years old. We do everything we can together and like the same things. The problem is my friend has started to copy everything I do lately. If I buy a video game, he buys the same one. If I get some new shoes, he goes out and buys the exact same pair. And recently, he bought the same Halloween costume that I was going to wear this year. You have to realize that he is the coolest friend ever, but I just hate that he is copying everything. Cramping my style Dear Cramping your style, I think your friend is just trying to be more like you. Maybe you could ask your friend to please stop getting the exact same things as you. Suggest that he be himself. He doesn’t have to be you. Figure out why he is dressing up like you and buying the same things as you. Then tell your friend that you would appreciate it a lot if he could buy something similar to yours, rather than the exact same items, as it bothers you. Your friend, Wesley Staff SpotlightsAnswers to last week's mysteries......
Who's favorite color is green, enjoys pizza, olives, cucumbers, apples, ice cream, and chocolate? It's Mrs. Cataldo! Who loves coffee, water and tea, shopping at TJ MAXX and Target, eating pasta, Hot Cheetos, Veggies, Skor bars and Swedish Fish? It's Mrs. Huthala! Here are the clues for this week....... Who Am I? I love spending time with my family or friends and spending time outdoors! The items I would most LOVE to have for my class would be Bloxels and more iPads! Who Am I? During my five years teaching at Meadowbrook, the most important lessons I have learned in life have come through the eyes of my students. They challenge me to be the best version of myself, every day and my heart grows bigger each year. ************************************************************** Community Corner Our schools now use the Activity Scheduler from rSchoolToday as our School Calendaring system.
